I'm a philosopher working at the intersection of ethics, cognitive science, and economics. I occasionally reach out to wider audiences through public lectures, workshops, and writing for encyclopedias, newspapers, and blogs. I also run the yearly Philosophy Against Malaria fundraising competition, which has raised roughly $80,000 so far. My service work received the Special Prize for Leadership in Co-curricular Enrichment.

I am an enthusiastic member of the Effective Altruism Community. This means that I love to nerd out about global health and development, factory farming, and risks from technology. It also means that I have strong views about our duties to faraway strangers: I have pledged to donate 10% of my income as a result, and have helped a fair number of people target their careers at making the world a better place.

Outside of philosophy, I love soccer, pen-and-paper games, and soup. I am happy to chat about any of these things, and you should never hesitate to reach out!
